The Cerrado Chameleon, also known as the Sloth Lizard, is a reptile found in much of Latin America, with a significant presence in the Cerrado and Caatinga regions of Brazil. The species is named "Sloth Lizard" due to its slow movements compared to other reptiles. This sluggish mobility can make it an easy target for predators. In addition to its slow movements, it has the habit of remaining motionless for long periods to camouflage itself, also using its ability to change color.
The Cerrado Chameleon is listed among the 364 species of Brazilian fauna classified as "critically endangered."
